His research focuses on the conceptual foundations of biological reproduction, challenging prevailing models that reduce reproduction to an auxiliary concept used to explain heredity, biological organization, or adaptive evolution. In his project “Expanding Biological Reproduction: Towards an Organismal and Relational Framework,” David develops a philosophical framework for understanding biological reproduction as a relational and organismal phenomenon, aiming to contribute to a more integrative understanding of how life persists, individuates, and reorganizes across generations.
